ABOUT
Light therapy, also known as phototherapy or low-level light therapy, is the application of specific wavelengths of light energy to obtain therapeutic benefits for a variety of conditions including skin, pain and hair restoration. The absorbed energy is then used to improve cellular PERFORMANCE.
Celluma light therapy is delivered through light emitting diode (LED) devices and has a variety of applications across many medical fields. This clinically validated technique is gaining greater and greater acceptance in main stream medicine by dermatologists and cosmetic surgeons as a non-invasive option to treat and heal skin and wounds, and by pain professionals for pain relief.

Originally developed by NASA for astronauts who could become injured or ill on long-term space missions, low-level-light therapy is used today as a safe and natural method of treating a variety of skin and pain conditions.

Phototherapy, or LED red light therapy, has been widely researched and is supported by thousands of peer-reviewed and published clinical research papers from prestigious institutions around the world. Treatments are non-invasive, painless, require no recovery time, and can be used safely on all skin types.
Celluma provides FDA cleared and CE marked medical LED devices for pain management, skin conditions and hair restoration. The Celluma Face device uses blue, red and near-infrared wavelengths of light energy to improve cellular health, accelerate cell repair and stimulate collagen. LED is clinically proven to improve:
-
Fine lines & wrinkles
-
Sagging
-
Photodamage
-
Wound healing
-
Inflammation
-
Circulation
-
Acne
-
Hair loss
YOUR TREATMENT
Light therapy delivers amazing results whether used in an intensive course of treatments, or as a key addition to other facials. It's likely to be included in your 60 or 90 minute skin treatment, unless I feel the time could be used more effectively for something else. If I feel you would benefit from an intensive course of LED I will discuss this during your consultation.

The Celluma Face is a flexible panel which can be placed over any treatment area. Goggles are provided if you are sensitive to light but are not a necessary safety precaution. It's common to experience flushed skin afterwards because red light in particular can increase your circulation, but this is very temporary. There is no aftercare to consider, just glowing skin!
