GENERAL
SKIN
GENERAL
Can I book online?
Yes! All treatments can be booked online.

If you'd like to book a skin treatment for the first time, you'll need a consultation first. Please make sure you only book a stand alone consultation or the "FIRST Skin Treatment with Consultation (new clients)".

Clients who are booking a tint for the first time must attend the clinic for a patch test first (even if you've had one elsewhere).
Do you charge a booking fee?
All appointments made through me must be secured with a 50% booking fee. The remainder of the treatment value will be payable on the day of your appointment by cash, card, bank transfer or payment link. You can choose to carry over your fee as credit (and add to it if your next appointment has a higher value) or pay a new fee for each new appointment.

Online bookings must be paid in full.

If you have paid for a course of treatments, you will not be required to pay anything else in advance. However, please see below for information on how cancellations will affect your course.

If you plan to use a gift voucher at your appointment, you can enter the code at the payment stage online. You won't need to pay a separate booking fee but in the case of a last minute cancellation, the voucher will be treated as cash and the relevant amount will be deducted.
What's your cancellation policy?
I understand that you may need to cancel or reschedule your appointment but please provide 24 hours' notice, in order to have your booking fee or online payment refunded or carried over to your next appointment. If you fail to provide the required notice, your payment will not be refunded and a new payment will be required to secure any future appointments.

If you make changes to your appointment without providing 24 hours' notice, or after your arrival (including removing services in order to finish by a certain time), which would reduce the overall value of your appointment, you will still be charged the full value of the original appointment.

If you have paid for a course of treatments and fail to provide 24 hours' notice for cancellation or rescheduling, one treatment will be forfeited from your course.

I reserve the right to cancel or rearrange appointments at any time but will always endeavour to contact you at least 24 hours prior. If a situation should arise in which I need to cancel your appointment last minute, I will contact you as soon as possible and reschedule your appointment at the earliest opportunity. If it is not possible to find an alternative time that suits you, I will be happy to refund your payment.
I hope you understand that your appointments are my livelihood, and there is no guarantee that I will be able to fill the space at short notice. Thank you for your cooperation and support.
What happens if I'm running late?
I appreciate that lateness is sometimes out of your control, but it may mean your treatment will be shortened and the full appointment value will still apply (or your course session will still be deducted). If I'm not left with enough time to perform your treatment that day, it will be treated as a last minute cancellation and your booking fee or online payment will not be refunded (or course session will still be deducted), as per the cancellation policy. I'll happily rearrange your appointment and will need to take a new payment. I will always do my best to accommodate you, so please contact me if you know you're running late.
Can I bring my children with me?
Unfortunately I am not able to accommodate children in the clinic. I also want you to get the most out of your visit without distraction, so I kindly ask you to arrange childcare prior to your appointment. If you attend your appointment with your children, please be aware I will have no choice but to reschedule your appointment. It will therefore be considered a last minute cancellation and will be subject to the cancellation policy.
Are your treatments only for women?
No! Sabel Walker is an inclusive clinic. I proudly offer my services to cis women and men, trans and gender-diverse individuals and all sexual identities in the LGBTQIA+ community. Please feel free to let me know your pronouns when you contact the clinic.

If you would like to suggest ways that I can improve allyship and representation at Sabel Walker, please do get in touch.
Can you accommodate for my disability?
If you have a physical or neurological disability, please let me know how I can ensure you have a comfortable and enjoyable experience at SW.
It might be helpful to know the following: the premises consists of one treatment room with a kitchen and bathroom, with no internal stairs. There are two steps up to the front door and regrettably it is not possible for me to provide a ramp for wheelchair access. You are more than welcome to have a carer accompany you to your appointment and I am very happy to physically assist you in accessing the building, should you request help. There is plenty of space for your wheelchair and any other mobility aids inside the treatment room. Please be aware there is no separate waiting area so your carer will be sitting in the same room during your treatment. I have an electric bed which can be adjusted to a low height, and there are two low comfy chairs in the treatment room. I can provide bolsters for comfort while you're on the treatment bed.
If you have any individual physical, sensory or emotional needs please inform me before your appointment and I will do my best to accommodate.

Can I have treatments if I'm pregnant?
There are many facial options available for pregnant clients. Please do ensure you inform me if you are pregnant or actively trying to conceive as there are limitations to which treatments and products are safe to use. Waxing and tinting treatments are perfectly safe during your pregnancy, but please note that tinting can be less effective due to the change in hormones.
Is there parking at the clinic?
There are no parking facilities at the clinic. Please check out the contact page for details about nearby car parks.
Do you take cash?
Yes, you are able to pay by cash, card or bank transfer.
Do you have a loyalty programme?
Yes! This is my way of thanking you for your continued support. The Loyalty Programme allows you to collect points when you spend, then redeem them against treatments. £1 earns you 1 point, and 45 points redeem £1.

Points can be earned from treatment, course and product payments. They may only be redeemed against treatments. The maximum amount that can be redeemed per transaction is £100 (4500 points). Redemption is limited to one transaction per month. Points must be redeemed through the client account they have been collected on, and cannot be shared or transferred between accounts. A client's points will only update after a transaction is complete, therefore it is not possible to earn new points and redeem them in the same transaction. Points cannot be exchanged for cash. Points cannot be used in conjunction with gift vouchers, or any other discount or promotional offer.
Can I buy a gift voucher?
Of course you can share the SW love! Vouchers are sent to you or the recipient via email and can be purchased for any monetary value, with a minimum of £15. They can be set up and paid for in person or you can call, email or message me with your gift voucher request. Click here for full terms & conditions.
SKIN
How do I choose which treatment to have?
I understand that the world of skincare can be pretty overwhelming. I'm not expecting you to show up with all the answers, that's my job! If you have no idea where to start, I'll work through your concerns and ensure you understand the options available to you. You can then make an informed decision about the next steps.
Chemical Peels scare me, won't they be too harsh for my skin?
Many clients come to me with concerns about chemical peels, which is understandable because there have been some pretty scary representations in the media. Peels will differ from brand to brand and clinic to clinic. At Sabel Walker I undergo thorough research into all brands before deciding to offer them to my clients. I won't use a product or treatment unless I understand how the ingredients work and have seen the clinical evidence to back up the claims made by the brand. Chemical peels use acids and/or enzymes to exfoliate and make changes to cell functions in the skin. There are various options to suit all skin types, ranging from very mild to more impactful. I will always provide an education on your peel options and ensure you understand what to expect during and after the treatment. Your comfort is always paramount. Please don't hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns regarding chemical peels.
Is Microneedling painful? Will it make me bleed?
Microneedling is the process of creating micro-channels in the skin with tiny needles, to stimulate the skin's natural healing response. My device allows me to change the needle length depending on the area and skin condition being treated. In most cases, a range of 0.2-0.5mm is used, which will feel warm and scratchy but not painful. At this length, the immediate outcome I am aiming for is pink or red skin, but no blood. In some cases when treating an area on the body, for example: hypertrophic scarring, stretch marks and alopecia, I would use longer needles and aim for pin pricks of blood. Some may experience discomfort during these body treatments, but the procedure is very quick so my clients always find it manageable. You can find more details about this treatment on the Microneedling page. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
What's LED light therapy? Is it like UV?
LED stands for Light Emitting Diode. Light therapy is the application of specific wavelengths of light energy to the skin. This improves cell function, accelerates repair and stimulates collagen. It is extremely well researched, with thousands of clinical studies proving its benefits. Celluma devices emit the most clinically researched wavelengths: blue, red and near-infrared. There are very few reported side effects, but it is important to note that photosensitive medications and certain health conditions may be contraindicated. All limitations to treatment are included on consultation forms, but please contact me if you have any questions.
It is NOT the same as ultraviolet light, which is scientifically proven to cause harmful effects on the skin.
How many skin treatments will I need and how often?
This depends on the treatment, the skin concern and the individual. Some clients may want ongoing monthly facials to maintain healthy skin. Some may need a 6-12 month treatment and homecare plan to address a stubborn concern. Some may have 8 weeks until a big event and will do whatever it takes to get the perfect glow in that time. Every client needs something different, which is why your first step will be a consultation. Once I know you and your skin, I can create a tailored plan to help you achieve your desired outcome.
How long do I need to use products before I see results?
It is impossible to give an accurate time frame for results after beginning a new skin regime. Some clients may have very minor concerns which can be improved during the first few applications of a product, whereas some may need a combination of ingredients as part of a more bespoke regime, in addition to lifestyle changes and nutritional help, aiming to see improvements between 3 and 12 months. Every individual will have a different experience and my recommendations are not set in stone. I am expecting cellular change, which means your regime may need a switch up from time to time. Remember to trust the process and always contact me if you need any help.
WAXING
Does waxing hurt?
Let's face it, hair removal will never be completely pain free! However, with Lycon I can provide a very comfortable treatment for even the most delicate skin. By applying pre-wax oil to protect the skin in sensitive areas, you'll have a clean and smooth result with minimal inflammation. Even the strip wax provides a quick and comfortable treatment without leaving a sticky residue.
How long do my hairs need to be?
Lycon hot wax can remove hairs as short as 1mm. However, while this isn't a problem for small areas like brows and upper lip, I recommend having at least 5mm growth for larger or intimate areas. That means leaving it at least 3 weeks after shaving and at least 4 weeks after waxing. If your hairs are too short in these areas, I may not be able to remove them all and you may find it more painful.
How long do I need to leave between treatments?
To align with the hair growth cycle and ensure hairs are long enough to remove, I recommend having an appointment about every 5 weeks. Some clients prefer 4 weeks, and some can leave it much longer. For facial waxing, clients tend to prefer booking every 3-4 weeks because the regrowth is more noticeable.
Should I trim my hair before an intimate wax?
Yes, your hairs can actually be too long for a wax! If it's been a long time since your last treatment, I recommend carefully trimming the longest hairs with small scissors or a trimmer. Aim to get them about 1cm long. This will save time during your treatment but it can be tricky, so if you don't trust yourself I can do it prior to waxing.
Can I have an intimate wax if I'm on my period?
Yes y0u can, there is no need to cancel if you are on your period (and no reason to be embarrassed). I just ask that you wear a tampon to ensure the treatment is as hygienic as possible. Please be aware that your pain threshold may be lower at this time.
Will I have to remove my underwear for an intimate wax? I'll be embarrassed!
You can keep your underwear on during a bikini/speedo wax but I recommend wearing something with a high cut rather than shorts or extra coverage briefs, so you can comfortably hold them out of the way. I can provide disposable underwear if you don't have anything suitable. During any other intimate wax you will need to remove your underwear so I can perform an effective treatment. I know it can feel daunting, especially if it's your first treatment with me, but I have had years of experience waxing people from all walks of life! I will always prioritise your physical and emotional comfort so please let me know if you're feeling anxious.
I'm booking my first intimate wax as a penis owner and I'm nervous!
I know your first intimate wax can be nerve-wracking. I provide all my waxing services in a professional manner and will give you clear instructions on your positioning and how to stretch your skin. I find that clients appreciate it when I'm direct and use anatomically-correct language.
Worried about arousal? It happens sometimes, you can't help it and it usually goes away quickly so don't panic. Let's face it, genitals are just genitals and you have nothing to be embarrassed about in front of a trained professional in a clinical setting.
I'm trans/gender diverse and I'm not sure what to book.
My face and body wax treatments are gender-neutral. Intimate waxes are listed with a "V" for vulva and a "P" for penis to help you differentiate between them. I find it helps to base each service on anatomy so this should help you choose the right one. If you're trans and haven't undergone GR surgery, or you're a non-binary individual, choose the service that matches your genitalia - but if you want to let me know your pronouns or discuss your needs and preferences, please feel free to get in touch or type a message at the online payment stage. In any case, I'm always happy to chat beforehand if you feel unsure about what the appointment will entail.
What's the difference between hot and strip wax?
Hot wax is used for sensitive areas, i.e. the face, underarms and intimate area. A pre-wax oil is applied to act as a barrier between the wax and the skin, the wax is then applied in a patch, left to dry for a few seconds and quickly removed. It can grip and remove shorter, thicker hairs with minimal inflammation caused to the skin. Strip wax has a thinner, stickier consistency and is used for larger, less sensitive areas of the body like the legs, arms, chest and back. The wax is applied and followed by a paper strip, then quickly removed. There is no noticeable temperature difference between the two.
Is there anything I need to avoid doing after a wax?
For 24 hours following your wax treatment I suggest avoiding hot showers or baths, swimming, aerobic exercise, saunas and steam rooms, sun exposure and the application of any products that I haven't recommended. As with any treatment, the aftercare is your responsibility. Keep in mind that your skin may be red and sensitive so it's best to avoid anything that might irritate it for the first day or so.
TINTING
What's involved in a lash or brow tint?
Tinting is the application of dye to your lashes or brows, to darken the hair. Depending on your natural colouring and desired outcome, I'll use a shade range of light brown to very dark brown/black on brows. Most clients have the darkest shade of blue/black on their lashes (don't worry, this doesn't end up looking blue! It just provides a more intense colour than black alone).

It's important to note that there will be some temporary staining on the skin under your eyebrows, so they usually look darker on the day of the treatment. This will wash off within a day or two. Some clients prefer a darker result that day to prolong the effects, but others would like a very natural result. I will always discuss your preference beforehand.
How long does tinting last?
This does vary depending on your hair's absorbency. Clients with fair hair tend to absorb the tint better and have a longer lasting result of around 4 weeks. Darker hair is likely to hold the tint for around 3 weeks.

You can improve the result of your treatment by attending without any makeup on your eyes or eyebrows. If I have to remove makeup beforehand, the residue from the makeup remover may act as a barrier and the result will be less effective. It will also reduce the amount of time I have to allow the tint to process.
Will I need a patch test like when I have my hair dyed?
Yes. You must have a patch test at least 24 hours before your first tinting treatment at SW. This applies even if you've had tinting elsewhere. There are many factors that can influence a negative reaction, even if you've been having the treatment for years.
