TREATMENT INFO

All SW treatments are available for trans and non-binary clients.

I send out a consent form prior to skin and waxing appointments, which includes a section on gender. You'll have the option to select trans male or female, non-binary, gender-fluid, type your own description or choose not to disclose. You can also provide your pronouns if you'd like to.

The form also includes questions about medical history, so I can check for contraindications to treatment. You'll see tick boxes for transgender hormone therapy and recent surgery, which may be relevant to you. Knowing about hormone changes allows me to form a detailed picture of your skin history, helping me find the root cause of your skin concerns and predict how it will continue to change. Hormone therapy will also have an effect on your hair growth and sebaceous activity, which are likely to increase if you are AFAB and receiving testosterone therapy. It's good for me to know this if you are having a wax treatment, so I can advise on managing your hair removal and potential ingrown hairs or folliculitis.

With any kind of surgery, I need to make sure my clients have had enough healing time before performing treatments. You may have recently had top or bottom surgery and it's important for me to know so I can take extra precautions around the surgical site if needs be. There is a section on the form for you to provide details, or you can just get in touch for a chat if you're unsure.

WAXING

The face and body waxing treatments I offer have gender-neutral descriptions, with the exception of intimate waxing. For the majority of my career I have only been able to offer this service to people with vulvas, but when I opened Sabel Walker Skin & Wellness I expanded my training and I am now qualified in intimate waxing for people with penises.

Whilst you have no obligation to discuss your identity, I do need to know what type of genitalia I'll be waxing. Therefore my intimate waxing services are listed based on genitalia type. To make it easier to find the right option, I've used common waxing terms with a “V” (vulva) or a “P” (penis). I have tried to be as inclusive as possible with these descriptions, but I'm always open to suggestions on how I could do better.

If you are a trans person and you’re not sure which service to book, just choose based on your genitalia. For example, if you are a trans man but you haven't undergone GR surgery, you can select a service for people with vulvas.

My pricing is based on the amount of time, product and skill required for these treatments. While there's no need to be specific for areas of the body that I'll treat with strip wax - like legs and arms - the intimate area is treated with hot wax and that comes with a higher skill level and cost price. This is even more relevant when waxing a person with a penis and scrotum as this requires separate, more specialised training and the treatment takes more time.

If you're unsure about which treatment to choose, you'd like to discuss what your appointment will involve or if there's any way I can help you feel more relaxed and comfortable about your visit, you can use the contact form below or get in touch using any of the links provided.
